This beautiful ancient kawe is over 90 years old and once belonged to my best friend’s grandmother, the graceful and dignified Salma Khan. She was the epitome of elegance, timeless and strong.
It was a gift from her beloved husband, whom she lost at the young age of 26.
I was deeply moved by the colors and story woven into this piece. It spoke to me,and I knew I had to bring it back to life. I recreated it, adding my own personal touch while honoring its soul.
Today, we remember Salma Khan and all the resilient women who carried their pride with grace and strength.
